Why I Started QuikData

If you've worked in eDiscovery for any length of time, you know the story: overcomplicated platforms, bloated pricing models, and clunky user experiences. Before founding QuikData, I spent years watching legal professionals wrestle with tools that were supposed to help them, but honestly, I saw a lot of legal teams struggling with technology that was only holding them back.

So in 2015, I set out to build something different.

QuikData started with a simple idea: what if eDiscovery software could be powerful, but easy to use? What if it didn’t require a full-time administrator or a thick user manual to get results? We aimed to create a flexible, feature-rich platform that met all the necessary requirements without overwhelming the user.

That meant rethinking how the technology was built, priced, and delivered. From day one, our team focused on building a cloud-based platform that delivers speed, reliability, and intuitive workflows. We knew what tools people needed – analytics, TAR, metadata filtering, secure review environments – but the challenge was making them accessible and cost-effective. We didn't want to cut corners, so in the end, we just cut out the noise.

As the industry has evolved with AI, short message data, remote collections, and ever-tightening deadlines, we’ve kept pace by focusing on what matters: simplicity, security, and scalability. Our mission is to deliver modern eDiscovery without the drama.

This is why I’m especially excited about our new partnership with Proteus. Their team understands the pressures of legal work and the need for defensible, efficient workflows. They bring a strategic, people-first approach to legal technology, something that resonates with us at QuikData. They were also founded the same year as QuikData, and there’s a certain symmetry there that resonates with me.

With Proteus now offering QuikData as one of their hosted eDiscovery platforms, we’re able to bring this vision to even more legal teams. It’s a win-win: Proteus clients get access to a flexible, modern solution, and we get to work alongside a partner who shares our birthday and our values: candor, simplicity, and an unwavering focus on client success.

As we look to the future, our goal remains the same: deliver the technology people need, without making it harder than it has to be. And with partners like Proteus, we’re just getting started.
