As we mark the 10th anniversary of Proteus Discovery Group, I want to take a moment to reflect on and recognize Proteus’ growth achieved through the support and collaboration of our clients, partners, and team members. 

When my co-founders and I started Proteus a decade ago, we had a clear goal: to simplify the complexities of eDiscovery from the perspective of practicing attorneys. In this vein, we also launched Mattingly Burke Cohen & Biederman, which allowed us to stay up to date on real world discovery issues and best practices. This dual approach—operating as both eDiscovery service providers and practicing attorneys—gives us a distinct perspective on the discovery and data management challenges faced by law firms and corporations.

Proteus started in a small room in midtown Indianapolis where our most cherished asset was a coffee maker (we still have that coffee maker today). From these roots, Proteus evolved into a national player in eDiscovery. While Proteus is far bigger than that single room, we haven’t lost the essence of what makes unique, innovation, integrity, and a commitment to providing high-quality service. These values guide our approach in every aspect of our business, from employee retention, to adopting new technologies, to offering solutions that help our clients manage their most complex cases.

There is no doubt that Proteus has adapted to a significantly different eDiscovery world over the last decade. Proteus and the legal tech industry have made significant advancements including the incorporation of generative AI, machine learning, and data analytics helping our clients leverage new tools to improve efficiency and manage discovery more effectively. We would not be able to deliver on any of these advancements without the most important aspect of our business, our team members. Our team is second to none when it comes to their commitment to providing service to our clients.

This year we have a few events planned to celebrate our diamond anniversary and will provide updates on these upcoming events. We appreciate your ongoing support and look forward to continuing to work together in the years to come.
