When my partners and I founded Proteus, we made a promise to ourselves that we would take our decades of combined litigation experience and use it to serve our clients with honesty, flexibility, and integrity.
Over time, the market, industry, and technology have evolved. Specifically with hosted eDiscovery solutions, we’ve seen some platforms come and go, and some change over time. Sadly, some have become less about partnership and exclusively about profit. With those platforms, prices have gone up and flexibility has gone down. Having a so-called technology partner try to dictate how our clients operate is not the Proteus way. So we’re going back to our roots.
At our core, Proteus prides itself on its Core Values. These values guide how we run our business. We believe in sincerity (that our words must always match our actions), in adaptability (that our clients deserve partners who can evolve alongside them rather than forcing them into rigid systems), in commitment (rolling with the ups and downs of the business), and in delivery (that responsiveness, transparency, and results are the standards, not the exception). These principles govern how we approach relationships, both with our clients and our technology partners.
We want to work with partners who share those same values. This year, we expanded our partner network to include QuikData and Venio Systems – two organizations that, like us, are committed to transparency, flexibility, and doing what’s right for the client. We selected these partners because they stand for integrity, not because they fit someone else’s quota. We will not be pressured into aligning with vendors whose business practices don’t reflect our own. If that means we walk away from vendor relationships that no longer align with our values, so be it. We won’t be bullied into decisions that don’t serve our clients.
Our Core Values require transparency. Our clients deserve to understand every detail of their projects, including what they’re paying for, what they’re receiving, and what they can expect. We don’t believe in surprise fees or quiet price hikes. We believe in open conversations, predictable pricing, and total honesty. Because when we say we have your back, we mean it.
